Louisville Works

COMPUTER TRAINING AND LIFE SKILLS

Louisville Works/Kairos Program offers more than just computer training skills.  Wesley House Community Services works to help Louisville Works students conquer barriers that hinder their success.  Our mission at Wesley House is to empower communities, families and individuals towards self-sufficiency creating hope and opportunity that result in extraordinary change in the lives of everyone we serve.

MORE THAN COMPUTER SKILLSLouisville Works

The Louisville Works program is a free computer training program for the entire community.  However, we are not just about teaching computer skills at Wesley House.  Finding and maintaining employment for the first time can be an intimidating situation for many.  The Louisville Works program teaches the following:

bulletJob readiness skills
bulletEmployability skills
bulletInterview techniques
bulletResume writing
bulletHow to dress for success

Each Louisville Works student receives a clothing voucher to purchase business attire from the Wesley Wear House to help start their professional wardrobe.  We also schedule women for an appointment with the Dress for Success of Louisville Program.

KAIROS INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

Louisville WorksThe Kairos Internship Program partners with local business to place eligible Louisville Works graduates into an eight-week internship program.  The participants in this hands on training program are assisted by mentors at local businesses who help the Louisville Works graduates understand the working world and help them to overcome any additional barriers they may face in securing and maintaining employment.  Stipends are available to Kairos interns whether at the Wesley House or at a company in the community.
